Description
The Thermamax Phoenix 400 is a rugged, industrial-grade inverter power source designed for high-intensity welding across three major processes: MIG/MAG, DC TIG, and MMA (Stick). This machine is a “modular stack,” meaning the power source, the separate wire feeder, and the water-cooling unit are individual components bolted onto a heavy-duty trolley. It is engineered for large-scale fabrication shops that require a high duty cycle and the flexibility to switch between different welding methods without changing machines.
Key Features:
- True Multi-Process Performance: Capable of delivering professional results in Gas-Shielded MIG, Flux-Cored MIG, Lift TIG, and heavy-duty Stick welding.
- Separate Wire Feeder: The top unit is a portable wire feeder connected by an umbilical cable (interconnect). This allows the welder to move the feeder closer to the workpiece while the heavy power source stays stationary.
- Integrated Water-Cooling System: The bottom module is a dedicated cooling unit that pumps liquid through the welding torch, allowing for continuous high-amperage welding without the torch overheating.
- Synergic Digital Interface: Includes pre-programmed synergic curves that simplify setup by automatically balancing voltage and wire feed speed based on the material thickness.
- Heavy-Duty 4-Roll Drive: Ensures smooth and consistent wire delivery, which is essential for the long interconnecting cables often used in structural steel environments.
- Inductance Adjustment: Allows the welder to “soften” or “harden” the arc, providing better control over spatter and bead profile.
Technical Specifications:
- Input Voltage: \(380\text{V}\) Three-Phase (\(\pm10%\)).
- Max Output Current: \(400\text{A}\).
- Duty Cycle: \(60%\) at \(400\text{A}\) / \(100%\) at \(310\text{A}\).
- Wire Diameters: Optimized for \(0.8\text{mm}\) to \(1.6\text{mm}\) wires.
- Protection Class: \(IP21\) (Industrial Indoor Use).
- Cooling: Integrated Water-Cooler (Phoenix Range).
